 The resort

Situated at the foot of Mont-Blanc and 20 minutes from bustling Chamonix, the spa resort of Saint-Gervais with its Baroque church and pedestrian areas has attracted tourists since 1806. Set in a narrow river gorge halfway between Megève and Chamonix, the landscape is impressive wherever you look. This small Savoyard market town offers an excellent selection of interesting food shops, cosy bars, nightclubs and restaurants.

Skiing in Saint Gervais Les Bains

Spoilt for choice in Saint Gervais, a week is barely enough time to ski the entire Evasion Mont-Blanc area (3rd largest domain in France) and its 445 kilometres of tree-lined slopes. The Evasion Mont-Blanc domain boasts 219 slopes, 107 ski lifts and 650 artificial snow makers. This vast playground offers 2 snow parks for freestyle fanatics and a great choice of off-piste on Mont Joly or towards Saint-Nicolas.

What about snow? There's more than enough! Great terrain and exposure, along with vast artificial snow making facilities make for fantastic skiing conditions .

Activities in St Gervais

Unwind at the beautiful Les Thermes spa, which welcomes visitors from far and wide to sample the warm healing waters. There is also a sports centre, swimming pool (summer only), gym, sauna, ice rink and paragliding in the village. A short 10 minute drive will take you to Lake Passy which offers a variety of outdoor sports. Recommended is the stunning journey by tram on the Mont-Blanc Tramway for spectacular views of Mont Blanc.

Every Thursday morning in Saint-Gervais there is a superb genuine market.

Other Saint Gervais’ attractions include a cinema, theatre, arts and entertainment centre, and many outdoor activities, unforgetable walks and rambles with over 180km of marked paths and trails, including a Baroque footpath. There is also a great children’s club (4-13yrs olds) offering plenty of games and activities and you can visit a traditional old farmhouse with a trip to the Ecomuseum.
